Artist Statement
Art is Caryn’s calling.
After graduating from Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, highlights included niche art jobs in New York City, scenic painting for the National Ballet of Canada, founding watercolour workshops on the Bruce Peninsula, and teaching at the McMichael Canadian Art Collection. Marriage and motherhood bore a tourism lodge in Temagami, Ontario, which promoted the arts. Despite the pulls between her artist’s drive, feminism, and business, Caryn always kept up a studio practice.
Now living in Meaford and retired, she is happily painting and giving full allegiance to her calling.
